Founder, Chief Medical Officer

Chuback Vein Center was founded by Dr. Chuback in 2005 and has grown into a 5-Star, premier center for the contemporary treatment of vascular disease, varicose veins, spider veins, wound care, and lymphedema.

Along with the vein center, he established a state-of-the-art vascular imaging center on-premises, Chuback Vascular Imaging. Both Chuback Vein Center and Chuback Vascular Imaging are accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission, IAC.

Dr. Chuback is board certified in General Surgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Vein and Lymphatic Surgery. He specializes in minimally-invasive, same-day, laser treatment of veins performed in a comfortable office setting. Dr. Chuback firmly upholds the sanctity of the Doctor-Patient relationship by getting to know each of his patients, listening to their concerns, and crafting a tailored, individualized treatment for each one.

In 2010, Chuback Vein Center became part of Chuback Vein Center in Paramus, NJ. His team at Chuback Vein Center are board-certified, 5-Star reviewed medical professionals.

Educational Background: Dr. Chuback is a native of Bergen County and graduated from the Dwight Englewood School. He earned his M.D. degree from Rutgers Medical School in Newark, NJ. Dr. Chuback then completed a five year General Surgical Residency at Monmouth Medical Center. Besides an outstanding clinical and academic experience at the main institution, the program included intensive surgical training at Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Manhattan, Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, and Crozier-Chester Medical Burn Center.

Subsequently, he advanced his training further, undertaking a two-year advanced fellowship in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at The University of Rochester Medical Center and the internationally renowned Strong Memorial Hospital in New York. The Doctor is on staff at Valley Hospital in Ridgewood, NJ, and Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ. Dr. Chuback is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, The International College of Surgeons, The American College of Thoracic Surgery, a member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, and many other professional associations.

In addition to his passion for medicine, Dr. Chuback is a published author, U.S. patent-holding inventor, and entrepreneur. He founded Chuback Education and has written two wonderful books on personal development and success called Kaboing! 50 Ideas That Will Springboard You to Academic Greatness and Make Your Own Damn Cheese: Understanding, Navigating, and Mastering the 3 Mazes of Success. Dr. Chuback is also co-founder of VitaSupportMD, a nutraceutical company that produces high-quality dietary supplements that promote wellness and good health.

The doctor is married to Diane Chuback, Ph.D., MBA who serves as CEO of Chuback Vein Center. Together, they have 3 beautiful children of whom they are both very proud.

Building Chuback Vein Center from its inception in 2005, Diane has worked side-by-side with husband, John Chuback, MD to create the multi-disciplinary and ever-growing organization that it is today.

During the course of this time, this growth has inspired the Chubacks to build out bigger and better office locations, with Diane at the center of the design and construction projects. The latest office opened its doors in April of 2018 and boasts 7,000 square feet of clean aesthetic design and triple the treatment areas. As a result, Diane has been able to departmentalize the practice into the Vein Care, Aesthetics, Plastic Surgical, and Hair Restoration areas.

As CEO, her philosophy in managing CMG has been to drive continuous energy into educational efforts – efforts to keep both clinical and clerical staff at the cutting edge of their knowledge base and expertise level. Through an informed and spirited team, our patients are able to experience a higher level of care – one which brings clarity and a sense of comfort in knowing their options and what to expect.

“As our organization grows, my job has become centered more and more on supporting our team members in being the best version of themselves, both professionally and personally. They are the heart and soul of all we do, and the spectacular care our patients receive is a direct result of our staff’s sense of fulfillment and dedication to their job.”

Education has been a big part of Diane’s life. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from New York University, followed by a Ph.D. degree in Neuroscience from Rutgers University. Diane worked in academia for several years, teaching various classes in the fields of both Biology and Neuroscience at Drew University, William Paterson University, and State University of NY, Brockport. After several years of managing the medical practice, Diane returned to school again, this time in the field of business, completing an MBA from Ramapo College.

Diane has also taken this educational approach in her interface with the public, hosting several informational events each year to bring awareness to the latest medical and aesthetic treatment technologies such as hair transplantation.

Maria Hughes

Chief Operations Officer

Maria Hughes, CCS-P, CMRS, has been an invaluable asset to Chuback Vein Center since August 2010.

While she has over 30 years of experience in medical billing, coding, healthcare administration, and healthcare compliance this does not speak to the amount of knowledge she brings to the office. Maria truly is the heart and soul of Chuback Vein Center and we are extremely fortunate to have her as an employee. She upholds the values of our practice and makes an exemplary leader for our staff. She never shies away from giving a helping hand, whether it is to our patients, staff members, or anyone else who steps foot in our office!

Maria is an incredible resource of information for patients regarding their insurance and understanding their policies. She is also a liaison to IT management of system operations and the Electronic Medical Records system (EMR). Although multitasking comes naturally to Maria, she is dedicated to patient education through her own tireless efforts to stay “in the know” of the ever-changing requirements and regulations in health care. Her devotion to the practice shines through in everything she does.

Maria’s professional affiliations include the American Health Information Management, American Academy of Professional Coders, America Medical Billers Association, and the New Jersey Doctor-Patient Alliance. She is a certified coding and billing specialist. Maria is continuously working on her certifications. In addition, Maria is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Business Administration.

Not only does our staff lean on Maria as the “office mom” but she also has two beautiful daughters of her own, Jenna and Taylor! When not at work, you can find Maria in the kitchen cooking up something delicious, going on fun trips with her friends, or spending time with friends and family!

Mazin Radwan

RVS, RPhS

Director, Vascular Lab

Raised in Paramus, New Jersey, Mazin Radwan is the Lead Registered Vascular Technologist at Chuback Vein Center.

He earned his credentials through the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and is certified as a Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) and a Registered Phlebology Sonographer (RPhS). His professional affiliates include the Society of Vascular Ultrasound. With almost a decade of experience in the field as a Registered Technologist, he has been with Chuback Vein Center since 2017. Mazin specializes in the performance of diagnostic imaging exams with the use of sophisticated noninvasive diagnostic imaging equipment. Mazin's goals in his career have always been to provide exceptional patient care and make an impact on people’s lives in a positive way.

A graduate of Eastwick College's Vascular Ultrasound program, Mazin graduated in the top 5% of his class. After his education, he began clinical work at one of the best hospitals in the country, New York-Presbyterian Columbia Medical University, with rotations in the ER, ICU, Neonatal ICU, pediatrics, transplant surgery, and outpatient care. His experience has expanded his skillset into multiple areas of vascular ultrasound, including but not limited to, cerebrovascular, renal vascular, peripheral arterial disease, and venous insufficiency. In his almost 10 year career he has assisted and guided surgeons with the use of ultrasound in over 700 endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) procedures, sclerotherapy (UGS), angioplasty, atherectomy, and arteriovenous fistula creation surgeries. After several years in hospital-based care, Mazin decided to move to private practice facilities with a strong focus on the diagnosis and treatment of Venous Disease. His move to private practice was underscored by the ability to provide more specialized premier patient care with an unparalleled patient experience. Finding a place that encompassed all of these values is what made Chuback Vein Center the perfect fit.

Christina Carpio

Front Desk Coordinator & Special Projects Manager

Christina, who many call Tina, is a passionate individual when it comes to helping others.

With over six years of experience in patient coordination and administration for clinics throughout Bergen and Passaic Counties, Christina is often the first welcoming face our patients see when entering Chuback Vein Center. She kindly greets people walking into our practice and can expertly guide those looking to inquire about Chronic Venous Insufficiency through their insurance verification process. She loves making people feel special and keeping patient satisfaction high ensuring that our patients are best taken care of from their first step into our office.

Christina earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health at William Paterson University and continued professional education at Rutgers University in Environmental Health. Throughout her academic years as a Public Health undergrad, she has been committed to understanding and critically analyzing public health issues and helping improve the health of her community. Outside of work, you can catch Christina dancing, shopping or going to the movies. She loves photography and capturing moments of her friends and family. She is always looking to grow and learn new skills and loves being a part of Team Chuback, where she can do just that!

She attended William Paterson University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Public Health.

Additional Reading

While studying at university, she worked as a Medical Secretary in a well known Orthopedic Office within her hometown. She enjoyed working within the Orthopedic field and aiding fellow residents to obtain a resolution with their health concerns. Stephanie was then hired by Chuback Vein Center in October of 2019 as a Front Desk Coordinator. She has enjoyed learning a new side of the medical field, getting to meet new people, and continuing to provide hard work to further her academics within the healthcare profession. When Stephanie is not at work, she enjoys cooking at home/dining out, strength training/hiking, and most importantly spending time with her loved ones. Her life quote would read "Don't let anyone tell you what will make you happy in this life, it is yours so only you know how to do that, go out there and make it happen!"

She has a background with over 10 years of experience in the medical field.

As a surgical coordinator, she enjoys serving patients and trying to make each appointment as easy, pleasant, and memorable as possible. She enjoys the relationships formed with our patients and watching the state of their health and wellbeing transform with every appointment! Cassandra’s warm smile and positive persona make all the difference in our patients’ experience.

When Cassandra isn’t at work, she enjoys spending her free time delving into her other interests. Some of them include teaching herself piano, reading books, outdoor activities, health/fitness, and spending time with her son. Her little family is a big part of her life and she considers herself lucky to have a second family here at Chuback Vein Center.

Mariely Fermin, RVT

Vascular Ultrasound Technologist

She obtained her credentials through the American Registry Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) and became a certified Vascular Ultrasound Technician.

Mariely was born and raised in the Dominican Republic before immigrating to Paterson, New Jersey at a young age. Working in the cardiovascular field since 2016, her specialty lies in providing physicians and patients with high-quality diagnostic imaging through non-invasive ultrasound techniques. Mariely is an active member of the Society of Vascular Ultrasound, and her primary objectives revolve around delivering excellent patient care and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey.

Having graduated from Eastwick College with a Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Cardiovascular Sonography, she initially gained clinical experience at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, focusing on outpatient care. Over time, she honed her skills in various areas of vascular ultrasound, including carotid artery, upper venous extremities and arterial disease, peripheral arterial disease, and venous insufficiency.

As part of the Chuback Vein Center team, Mariely is eager to face new challenges and implements her skills. She finds fulfillment in fostering a healthy work environment and embracing opportunities to develop new skills.

Outside of work, Mariely enjoys spending quality time and watching films with her family.

Andrea Cabrera, M.A

Integrated Marketing Manager

Andrea Cabrera started her journey with the company as a Marketing Intern and soon after became a Social Media Assistant before landing her current position.

She holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, which she obtained in her home country of Ecuador in 2014. In 2018, she moved to the US to further her education and she graduated with an M.A in Professional Communications from the William Paterson University of New Jersey.

Andrea brings a unique blend of storytelling and marketing expertise to her role. For Andrea, the most rewarding aspect of her job is helping people find the necessary resources and support to improve their health and transform their lives positively.
