No more bumps, stubble, or irritation! The Chuback Medical Group is pleased to introduce Laser Hair Removal to their list of cosmetic services. Laser hair removal offers patients a safe, fast, and effective alternative for dealing with unwanted hair. Unlike shaving, waxing, plucking, or threading, laser hair removal provides a permanent hair reduction. The laser works by emitting pulses of light that are attracted and absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. The heat damages the hair follicle preventing future growth.
Laser hair removal can be used on all skin types and on almost all body parts. The treatments are noninvasive and require little to no recovery time. Call today for a free consultation!

Laser Hair Removal Q & A
Can all skin tones be treated?
Yes, all skin tones can be treated. Skin Type I is very fair, always burns, never tans (usually blonde hair and blue eyes). Skin Type VI never burns (dark skin, black hair).
What can I expect with the procedure? Does it hurt?
The procedure should take between 5 minutes and 1 hour depending on the size of the area being treated. Cold air is used as a local anesthetic. You may feel a “pinch” when the laser is activated. Each patient has his or her own level of skin sensitivity and pain threshold. Different areas of the body are also more sensitive than others. You can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment.
What are possible side effects after treatment?
Laser hair removal is a minor procedure that generally requires little or no recovery time. Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours. There is a low risk of burns and pigment changes; however, these are quite rare and can be minimized by the appropriate use of the laser.
How many treatments will I need?
Typically, 6 to 8 treatment sessions will be required for optimal results. This does vary from patient to patient. Depending on hair density, color and texture, treatment is individualized to each client. Sessions are planned and scheduled at approximately 4 to 8 week intervals, depending on the area being treated. Maintenance treatments are also recommended for optimal results.
Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
Each laser treatment will be associated with some degree of permanent hair loss. The number of treatments will depend on each patient’s individual response to laser therapy, and the amount of hair to be removed. The hair that remains is often lighter in color and thinner than the original hair prior to laser therapy. The FDA has stated that a realistic goal is “95% permanent hair reduction.”
